Michael on the Radio
Leeds Student Radio - LSRfm.com
In September 2007 Michael moved to Leeds to begin studying for his degree and joined the biggest student radio station in the country, LSRfm.com.

In his first year he hosted The Saturday Morning Show with Matt Small and Alana Morris. In his second year at the station Michael became Head of Production, whilst continuing the much-loved Saturday Breakfast! At the end of the second year Alana left the show to persue a year abroad in Australia.
Now in it's third year, Michael and Matt are joined by new host Emily Waterfall every Saturday from 10. The show will return to LSRfm.com in February.
The Saturday Morning Show
Here is the show's (rough) running order for Spring 2009.
The format has changed a lot since with new features and content. Check back soon for the running order for Spring 2010 (it's not been written yet!).
10:00 The Big Open
Opening the show is a feature in itself. We introduce everyone in the studio this week, discuss what's happened since the last show and consider what's coming up in the rest of the show!
10:10 - The Sound Clash
The Sound Clash is a feature whereby Michael, Matt and Alana all choose a song from a pre-defined genre and the listeners vote on which one they like best. We keep score week to week to determine who has the better taste in music. Obviously it's Michael...
10:30 - Pavarotti Does Pop
Pavarotti (a fictional character designed for the show) joins the show for this feature in the form of pre-recorded clips. He chats to the hosts and then sings lyrics fron a pop song in an operatic style. The audience guess what song it is. Simple.
11:00 - The Album Chart
Matt counts down the top five best selling albums from the past week, which is immediately followed by the current number 1 single. It's a good opening to the second hour, we feel!
11:10 Beat the Intro
The most energetic and anarchic feature of the show. Michael plays a song from the beginning and everyone in the studio has to guess what it is. First to get it gets a point. Genius! Now, thanks to the chatbox at LSRfm.com everyone listening at home can play along too. Wahey!
11:30 - The Last Half Hour
The last half hour is usually improvised. It allows for overrunning and any features unique to the week! If we have guests we'll probably play Celebrity Two-Word Tango.
